Likopid: instructions for use for children. Lykopid for a child or how to outwit harmful microorganisms Taking Lykopid together with prebiotics compatibility

Immunomodulatory drug Lycopid. Medicine Lycopid contains glucosaminylmuramyl dipeptide, which binds to specific centers located in the endoplasm of T-lymphocytes and phagocytes. The drug Likopid stimulates the phagocytic activity of macrophages and neutrophils, enhances their bactericidal and cytotoxic activity. The drug increases the proliferation of B and T lymphocytes and stimulates the synthesis of specific antibodies. Lykopid enhances the production of tumor necrosis factor, gamma interferon, interleukin-1, interleukin-12 and interleukin-6, as well as colony-stimulating factors.

Glucosaminylmuramyl dipeptide also increases the activity of killer cells.
When taken orally, the bioavailability of glucosaminylmuramyl dipeptide is about 7-13%. The maximum concentration in blood plasma is achieved within 1.5 hours after administration. The half-life reaches 4.29 hours.
Excreted mainly by the kidneys.

Indications for use

The number of outbreaks of seasonal and cold diseases is steadily growing every year. Such illnesses become especially dangerous for children with weakened immune systems. To avoid frequent colds and viral diseases, experts recommend taking medications that help strengthen the body's protective functions. The most popular medication in this area is a drug called Lykopid.

The product showed a positive effect not only as a preventive measure for various acute respiratory infections and acute respiratory viral infections, but also for reducing the relapses of many chronic diseases.

The effect of the drug on the human body

According to the instructions, the beneficial effect of Lykopid is due to the stimulation of the phagocytic activity of leukocytes, macrophages and monocytes. This means that the above components destroy harmful cells that have entered the body. In addition, a complex of special additives activates the body’s own cells to fight viruses, which significantly strengthens the immune system.

The drug does not cause any side effects, and its use does not harm even very young children.

The medicine contains peptides synthesized from living bacteria - GMDP, which are an analogue of the cells of the body's own immune system, and have a similar operating principle. Thus, Lykopid works as a trigger that activates all protective functions in the human body. In addition to the fact that the drug prevents the formation and development of inflammatory processes, it helps to destroy harmful fungi, bacteria and viruses.

The medicine also contains protein-peptide molecules - cytokines, which perform several useful functions in the body:

  • prolong the viability of immune cells;
  • promote the active reproduction of antibodies in the body;
  • create new white blood cells that help eliminate harmful bacteria that enter the body from the outside;
  • improve the functioning of the immune, nervous and endocrine systems.

Likopid: reviews from immunologists

Due to the fact that this medicine activates all possible forms of protection: the body’s humoral and cellular immunity, as well as phagocytosis, the attitude of specialists towards the drug is very positive. In addition to strengthening the body's protective functions, the product is an excellent immunomodulator. It is prescribed for any form of immune deficiency in both adults and children.

Indications for use

  • chronic and acute diseases of the respiratory system;
  • viral hepatitis C and B;
  • human papillomavirus infections;
  • purulent viral inflammation of soft and mucous tissues;
  • various forms and localizations of psoriasis and herpes.

Also, the instructions for use of Lykopid indicate a number of diseases in which the use of the drug will help to significantly reduce the severity of symptoms and alleviate the overall course of the disease. Such diseases include:

  • chronic form of rhinitis, laryngotracheitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis;
  • tuberculosis;
  • ophthalmic, simple and genital herpes;
  • arthropathic psoriasis.

The drug is also prescribed in case of frequent colds and herpes in children or adults. For bronchitis, pneumonia, long-term non-healing wounds, and also as a prevention of complications after surgery, Lykopid also shows a very positive effect.

Likopid for children - features of administration

Instructions for use of Licopid allow the drug to be taken by children over the age of one year. Despite this, many pediatricians prescribe the drug even to infants and newborns. The reason for this is that the medication does not contain harmful chemical compounds that can harm the baby’s health. And GMDP peptides, in small quantities, are even found in breast milk.

Despite the minimum side effects and the safety of the medication for very young children, the drug should only be given to children over one year old. Otherwise, the appointment should be carried out only after appointment and under the close supervision of a specialist.

Many parents are wondering what is better to give to children with a weakened immune system to improve health, Lykopid or its more common interferon-based analogues?

Clinical trials have shown the high effectiveness and absolute safety of the drug Likopid for children of preschool and primary school age. Therefore, for the drug Likopid, reviews from immunologists are almost unambiguous: this is the most suitable drug for strengthening the child’s immune system.

Many parents are also well aware of the problem of increased frequency of colds when visiting preschool institutions.

This happens due to the fact that the child’s still fragile immune system cannot fight back the numerous bacteria and viruses that it encounters when visiting kindergarten. The drug Likopid will help strengthen the baby’s immunity and resist many childhood diseases.

Contraindications for use

Likopid should not be taken in case of acute intolerance to one of the components included in the medication or GMDP. It would also be inadvisable to prescribe Licopid for diseases accompanied by elevated (above 38°C) body temperature, chills, fever and excessive sweating. In case of exacerbation of autoimmune diseases, such as thyroiditis, use is possible only after consultation with a specialist. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug should be taken only after a doctor's prescription and under his strict supervision.

Contraindications for taking Lykopid also include the presence of ailments such as lactose deficiency and galactosemia.

Likopid in combination with other drugs

In combination with most medications, Likopid does not change its effect or their effects, so they are often prescribed in combination. A number of studies have shown that some antiviral and antifungal agents, as well as antibiotics, in combination with Lykopid show greater effectiveness in treatment.

But combination with sorbents and antacid drugs can reduce the absorption and effect of Lykopid. Therefore, they should be taken at different times.

How to take Lykopid

Release form: white round tablets in a dosage of 1 or 10 mg of the drug. Adults are recommended to take the drug at a dosage of 10 mg sublingually. Children's Lykopid (1 mg) can be dissolved in a small amount of water or given whole if the child can take it in this form.

The average duration of the treatment course is up to 10 days. The course can be repeated in the future. How much the drug needs to be taken and in what dosage is determined by the specialist strictly individually.

For better absorption and effectiveness, the medicine is taken on a completely empty stomach or 2 hours after eating.

Taking the drug for various ailments:

  • for inflammatory processes and skin suppuration - a daily dose of the drug is 2-3 mg. Severe forms of the disease require increasing the dose to 10 mg;
  • papillomavirus - up to 10 mg per day;
  • strengthening the immune system after surgery - 2 mg per day;
  • when treating psoriasis, Lykopid should be taken 10-20 mg per day for 7-10 days. In the future, the course must be repeated at 10-20 mg every two days. In especially advanced cases, the course of therapy can last up to 20 days;
  • simple forms of herpes are treated by taking 2 mg of medication 1-2 times a day. More severe forms require increasing the dosage to 10-20 mg per day. The course duration is usually one week;
  • if you have ophthalmoherpes, the medicine must be taken 20 mg per day for at least three days in a row. After a short break of 2-3 days, the course should be repeated;
  • for acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory system - the medicine is taken once a day, 2 mg;
  • tuberculosis - 10 mg once a day.

Features of taking Likopid in children

For pneumonia, laryngitis, bronchitis and rhinopharyngitis, the medicine is taken in a dosage of 1 mg 2 times a day. For hepatitis C and B, as well as herpes or inflammatory skin diseases - 1 mg up to 3 times a day.

Dosages shown are for guidance only. The exact duration and frequency of taking the drug is determined by the doctor, taking into account the general state of health and the form of the disease.

Possible side effects

In some cases, after taking the drug, body temperature may rise to 37.5 °C. This effect is normal and does not require taking antipyretics. Body temperature usually drops on its own, within several hours after taking the medicine, and does not affect the general well-being of both the adult and the child.

If your body temperature rises above 38.0°C, you should take an antipyretic drug and consult your doctor about further use of Lykopid. This side effect is extremely rare (approximately 0.01% of people) and most often does not require discontinuation of Lykopid.

Sometimes an allergic reaction may occur after taking the drug. Typically, allergy symptoms are noted to sucrose, which is part of the drug.

In rare cases, pain in the joints or muscles appears after taking the medication. Such indicators are not critical and do not require discontinuation of the immunomodulator. Only if pain increases or persists for a long time, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

A little about analogues

Today, there are no drugs on the domestic market that can compete with Likopid in their composition and amount of active substance. There are a number of drugs that have similar therapeutic effects and similar immunomodulatory effects. For example, in its ability to strengthen the immune system, Likpid is often compared with echinacea, but in its medicinal qualities it is significantly inferior.

Lykopid has a number of therapeutic effects that have a beneficial effect on human health, with virtually no side effects. The positive qualities of Lykopida are also proven by the fact that in 1996, he was awarded the Russian Government Prize in the field of development of technology and science.

    I have always been skeptical about immunomodulators. But when my frequently ill child was prescribed Lykopid 1 mg, I decided to try it. I was amazed by the effect. When he was 4 years old, he was sick almost every month with colds, tonsillitis, and rhinitis. We didn’t get out of illness. And after Lykopid we almost never get sick, and now these endless snot are over!

  2. A good immunomodulator Lykopid. The children were sick non-stop. The pediatrician prescribed Likopid 1 mg. We drank it for 1 month. We haven’t been sick for many months now; we didn’t even get sick in the spring. In the fall we will carry out preventive maintenance for 10 days. The doctor recommended it.

    My five-year-old child has been sick for about two years now. I suffered from sore throats very often. And so, ARVI, acute respiratory infections almost every month. During the consultation, the doctor suggested taking the immunomodulator Lykopid in a dosage of 1 mg. Initially, the course is 1 month. Tolerated it well, without adding an increase in temperature (listed in the instructions as a side effect). Then, to consolidate the result, she prescribed drinking for another 10 days. These are sweetish lozenges.
    After this treatment of our weak immunity, we almost stopped getting sick. Even somehow fantastic, because... We were sick most of the time and went to the garden during breaks. They forgot about sore throats. It is rare to have a slight runny nose that goes away quickly. We are so excited about the restoration of our immunity!

    After spending time with my child in an infectious disease hospital with double pneumonia last year, I decided that I’d stop joking and need to do something about the immune system. After discharge, the attending physician prescribed us a regimen to strengthen the immune system: Lykopid 1 mg for 10 days and vitamins to boost immunity in courses every six months. We drank Vitamishki. They are tasty. Lykopid, by the way, turned out to be surprisingly tasty too. My immunity really improved after this. Now we will take another course before the New Year.

    But I liked that you only need to take pills for 10 days and that’s enough to strengthen your immune system. My son drank that much and stopped getting sick often. But I don’t believe in all the drops or pills that you need to take for months, because I tried it and it didn’t give any effect. But the doctor said we still need to wait. So how long can you wait if it’s not there and you want your child to stop constantly catching colds. Now I trust Likopid, we were prescribed a dosage of 1 mg, we drank according to the regimen prescribed by the doctor. There is nothing complicated, but it helps well.
