note

In the previous lesson, we talked about the fact that for printing text on a computer there is a special multifunctional program, Microsoft Word. Try typing some text. If it’s difficult for you to come up with it yourself, open any book and print a small piece of text from it. Looking ahead, I will say that to move to another line (to print the text below), you need to press the Enter button on the keyboard.

In this short lesson I will tell you how to type text on a computer. Where to find a printing program and how to work in it.

Open Word. Perhaps there is a special icon on the Desktop (on the screen) of your computer that opens it.

If there is no such icon, click on the “Start” button in the lower left corner of the screen.

A list will open. Click on “Programs” (All Programs).

will appear new list. Find the “Microsoft Office” item, click on it and in the small list that appears, click on “Microsoft Word”.

If you do not find the words “Microsoft Office”, then most likely the office software package (including Microsoft Word) is not installed on your computer. In this case, you can use the standard WordPad program (Start - All Programs - Accessories). Or you can use Writer from the OpenOffice package as Word.

The following window will open. This is a program for printing text in Microsoft Word.

We are interested in the central white part. This is an A4 sheet. This is where we will print.

Please note: the sheet appears to have been cut off. In fact, it simply did not fit - after all, the size of the computer screen is smaller than the size of an A4 sheet. The part that does not fit is “hidden” below. To see it, you need to turn the wheel on the mouse or drag the slider down right side programs.

But we will print the text from the beginning of the sheet, so if you went to the end (down), go to the beginning (up).

In order to start typing text, you need to left-click on the sheet. Better to click somewhere in the center.

A black light should be blinking in the upper left corner of the program. Thus, the Word program “prompts” that you can already print the text.

By the way, it will be printed where the stick flashes. If you want it to be in a different location, double-click on the desired location with the left mouse button.

Now try typing something using the keyboard. But first, look at what language is installed. The alphabet that is selected on the computer is shown at the bottom right. It is shown in two English letters.

RU- this is the Russian alphabet, EN- This is the English alphabet.

To change the input language, click on these two letters with the left mouse button and select the desired alphabet from the list.

Try typing a little text. If it’s difficult for you to come up with it yourself, open any book and print a small piece from it.

To move to another line (for typing below), you need to press the Enter button on the keyboard. The flashing stick will move one line down - the text will be printed there.

It is also worth drawing your attention to one very important button in Word. This button is called "Cancel" and looks like this:

It is located at the very top of the program and allows you to undo the last thing you did in Word.

For example, you accidentally deleted the text or somehow damaged it (moved it, painted it over, etc.). By clicking on this wonderful button, the Word program will return your document (text) to the state in which it just was. That is, this button returns one step back. Accordingly, if you click on it twice, you will go back two steps.

How hard it used to be for students, and even ordinary people, when there were no printers and they had to write abstracts, term papers, etc. by hand. The advent of printers has made life much easier. It only takes a couple of minutes to print the document. Let's figure out how to do this.

1. Open the document for printing in Word. There is a very simple way to print - click on the printer icon in the upper left corner. But not everyone sees it.

In order for the print button to be visible, you need to click on the arrow and select “Quick print”. An icon appears, we click on it and print!

2. The next method: click on the button located in the very left corner and select “Print” from the menu. You can click directly or select “Print”, “Quick Print”, “Preview” from the list.

To print a Word file, open the main menu and click on “Print”

3. The easiest way is to press the key combination Ctrl+P.

After you perform one of the above operations, a window with printing options will appear. In it you can select a printer, configure it, select which pages will be printed, select duplex printing, the number of copies, etc. Click “Ok”.

If you want to print the page like a book, i.e. landscape orientation, then go to the “Page Layout” tab in Word. Click on “Orientation” and select “Landscape” from the menu. Now you can print the file as a book.

To print a document in book form, you don’t have to go to a printing house - a regular printer will do. However, this process has its own difficulties. If you don't take them into account, you risk wasting a lot of time, paper, and toner. If you want to print a book quickly, easily and without errors, use our tips.

Note: if there are more than 20 pages, then it is better to use special programs. For example: FinePrint(search on Yandex) and ClickBook(search on Yandex).

Preparing text for printing using Microsoft Word 2010

Before figuring out how to print a book in Word 2010, you need to understand the process of preparing it.

The first stage is making the cover. Go to the “Insert” tab, click on the “Cover Page” button and select the appropriate option. The proposed templates can be changed at your discretion. If none of the cover options suits you, simply remake any of the templates as needed.

The next step is page numbering. Go to the “Insert” tab, click on “Page Number” and set required settings. The numbers can be placed at the top, bottom or in the margins. The program also allows you to add a chapter number and start numbering from any number.

If desired, you can also make headers and footers indicating the author of the book, its title, chapter, etc. The necessary buttons are located to the left of the “Page Number”.

Microsoft Word automatically opens the Design tab when you click on the header and footer. There you can set additional settings. For example, the cover usually does not indicate a number, so it makes sense to check the “Special footer for the first page” box.

If the book has several parts, you should use the “break” option. Of course, you can do without this and move the beginning of each chapter to a separate page using the Enter key, but in this case any change, including adding or deleting pieces of text or changing the font, will lead to the placement of headings being confused and the document will have to be redone . When you set a break, the chapter starts with new page, and the title is always at the top. To use this option, place the cursor at the beginning of the text you want to wrap, and then click on “Page Break” in the “Insert” tab. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Enter.

There remains the last stage of preparation for printing the book. You need to set fonts for headings, subheadings and paragraphs, set the margin size, align the text, make sure all the pictures are positioned correctly and adjust them if necessary.

How to print a book in Word 2010

Before sending a document for printing, you need to change the settings:

  • set the appropriate margin size;
  • set to print two pages per sheet instead of one;
  • Choose double-sided printing instead of single-sided printing.

You can also specify the binding width in the page settings.

To the right of the menu is a preview window - with its help you can flip through the book and see how the pages will look after printing. This is especially true if you've added pictures and set text to wrap around the sides. If an error was made during registration, you will see something like this:

Use the preview and iron out any issues before sending your document to print.

Please note that because we are printing using 2-sided printing instead of single-sided, the printed sheets will need to be re-inserted into the printer tray. Microsoft Word makes the following recommendation:

However there is one important point : Paper feed and output may vary depending on the printer model. In some cases, following the program's recommendations, you can obtain sheets, one side of which will be blank, and the text on the other will be printed twice. It may also happen that on half the pages the text will be upside down. To avoid this, do a little test and try printing one sheet of paper on both sides. Once you understand how to place paper in the printer tray, you can move on to finishing the copy.

If the book has many pages, it will be difficult to hold the sheets together. The best option- divide the document into parts of 10-20 pages, print them in the form of brochures and sew each of them separately. After this, the pieces of the book can be connected to each other, and if necessary, even a strong binding can be made.

You can prepare and print a book in Word 2007 in exactly the same way.

How to Print a Document as a Booklet: Other Options

You can do without Microsoft Word. One of the most affordable, but at the same time quite complicated ways solution to the problem - print the document and set the necessary settings:

  • Number of pages per sheet - 2.
  • Book orientation.
  • A4 format.
  • Two-sided printing.

Then you need to specify the page numbers to print. This is the main difficulty. To better understand the principle, take a sheet of paper, fold it in half, then number the pages and unfold the paper again. You will see that on one side there are numbers 4 and 1, and on the other - 2 and 3. This means that you need to indicate the printing of pages 4, 1, 2, 3. If there are more sheets, the task becomes more complicated. For example, this is what the sequence looks like if you need to print an 8-page brochure:

If there are 12 pages, you need to indicate the numbers 12, 1, 2, 11, 10, 3, 4, 9, 8, 5, 6, 7.

If there are 16 of them, then 16, 1, 2, 3, 4, 13, 12, 5, 6, 11, 10, 7, 8, 9.

If 20 - 20, 1, 2, 19, 18, 3, 4, 17, 16, 5, 6, 15, 14, 7, 8, 13, 12, 9, 10, 11.

As you can see, this printing method is relatively simple only if there are few pages. If there are a lot of them or if you want to split the document into several parts, print each one in the form of a brochure and sew it together, you will have to do some serious work. preparatory work for the correct selection of the sequence.

If the option described above is not suitable, you can use programs designed to quickly prepare a document for printing. Examples: FinePrint(search on Yandex) and ClickBook(search on Yandex). Most of these programs are shareware. This means that they can be used for a few days, after which you need to pay for activation. However, if you do not often print text in the form of a brochure or book, you will not need a paid version - a standard test period will be quite enough.

Also keep in mind that the interface language in most of these programs is English. For example, this is what ClickBook looks like:

If you are not comfortable using the English version, you will have to install a crack.

Whatever method you choose, after printing the document, be sure to check the result and make sure that all pages are correctly positioned and numbered, headers and footers are in place, and the margins are sized without errors. The best option is to do a test print before producing a book or brochure. This simple precaution can often clear up errors before you print all the pages.

Now I'll show you simple example you can quickly create a round stamp in Microsoft Word. I won’t show you how to create a rectangular stamp, because it’s even simpler. In the process, the usual previously studied Word tools will be used, but in a slightly different way.

To ensure that fewer questions arise when reading the article, I highly recommend that you first read about the general principles of working with pictures and other non-text objects in Word. The fact is that this will also come in handy when creating stamps.

It is also worth noting that this article is not intended for you to learn how to make “fake” stamps using a common office program. This is just a demonstration of the capabilities. By the way, sometimes you need to put a facsimile signature or seal on a document in 1C, and there is standard functionality for this.

An example of a round seal created in Word

The result of all operations is shown below in the form of a picture. The created “seal” is, of course, very primitive, but the principle is demonstrated. Let me remind you that if you want to do something more complicated, then you need to spend a lot more time, and on your own. You should not hope that the Internet has exactly what you need - I have already spoken about the consequences of such an attitude towards work.

website_

Any round seal has a rim, text in a circle, text or a picture in the center. Here possible options, one of which is shown in the picture. This is easy to do, but it is worth considering one feature.

The main difficulties when creating a round seal in Word

The main “difficulty” with this is that you don’t know how to make the text in a circle. It was because of this that we went online to solve such a primitive problem. Did you guess right? Most likely this is the case.

This only speaks of poor knowledge of Word, nothing else. Let's see how to make the text in a circle and everything else.

There was an important part of the article, but without JavaScript it is not visible!

Making a round stamp in Word yourself

I won’t explain how to make a bezel and a picture in the center. This is an autoshape and a regular picture from an external file - everything is simple here. But curved text is made using the properties of the Caption object. First, add an inscription to the sheet and write text inside. It is better to write the entire text at once, at least the one that forms one circle inside the “seal”. This is all because it is more convenient to adjust the curvature of the text this way.

Next, select the Inscription and in the Ribbon menu open the Format tab that appears, look for “Text effects” there, and in them - “convert / circle”. That, in fact, is the whole trick with the text curved in a circle. There, if desired, you can select any type of text distortion.

If the "circle" distortion option is selected, then you must then select the size of the inscription and font so that the curvature of the text coincides with the curvature of the rim of the "seal", otherwise the text will not run exactly along the rim, but will go to the side. All other operations are clear and without comment.

Let's sum it up

This is how you can create a round seal in Word. It is worth noting that when printing on a black and white printer, all colors are converted to grayscale. Also, instead of a laser printer for stamps, it is better to use an inkjet printer (remember why?) or print to a file and take it to a place where there is a color printer.

I also remind you once again that this is just a demonstration of the program’s capabilities. It is also worth noting that there are special programs to create round pictures (not necessarily stamps/seals, but the principle is similar) - it is much more convenient to use them (for example, there is a program for printing on CD/DVD discs). Again, in the 1C program there is the application of stamps on documents.
