Effective alternative treatment for mastopathy. Getting rid of mastopathy: treatment with folk remedies at home

Author Bozbey Gennady Andreevich Update date: December 9, 2017 0

Mastopathy is a dishormonal disease that affects many women. The discomfort from it is quite strong; traditional treatment does not provide an immediate effect. This is why some women refuse official therapy recognized by the scientific community (especially since all medications are terrible chemistry!!!) and begin to look for the best recipes for folk methods that have helped at least someone.

Treatment of mastopathy with folk remedies

Officially, mastopathy is treated (and usually quite successfully!) with certain drugs that stimulate the production of progesterone and suppress the synthesis of estrogen. Their effectiveness has been clinically proven, with positive results. But there still remains a certain percentage of women who do not believe in traditional medicine. They are the ones who are convinced that everything can be cured using traditional methods, and that pills are a conspiracy of pharmaceutical companies.

And even if the supposedly “successful” results of the fight against mastopathy are just entries on the Internet written by unknown authors, and even if only the “healers” themselves, the owners of the corresponding sites, speak positively about the effectiveness of folk methods, but the holy faith in the power of the printed word does its job : ladies quit taking pills and start using everything they can get their hands on. Herbal tea, decoctions, infusions, ointments, ingestion, application to the skin - everything is used, including sometimes spells that have been tested for centuries and known only to Tibetan shamans - this is how unconventional methods of treating anything are described. Their effectiveness is in great doubt, time may be hopelessly lost, but... As the hero of one film said: “If a woman asks for something, she must certainly be given it. Otherwise she’ll take it herself.” Well, take it!

Treatment with dietary supplements

In the 90s, dietary supplements invaded the space of the former USSR. It all started with the famous Herbalife, but now there are more than a dozen manufacturers of these supplements, and each of them is the most effective and safe. They are used for any disease, from gastritis to fibrocystic mastopathy. Some dietary supplements are even prescribed by medical practitioners, despite the fact that there is not a single piece of evidence that they have any medical effect.

For the treatment of mastopathy, supplements based on herbs that have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects are most often used, less often - analgesic, and even less often - pseudo-hormonal. Typically the following methods are used:

  • Mastofit - contains fucus with the active component fucoidan and concentrated indole-3-carbinol extracted from broccoli. These two substances are considered promising for the treatment of hormone-dependent tumors, but their effectiveness has not yet been proven. There are only studies on cell cultures and mice. This, however, does not prevent manufacturers of dietary supplements from making money from their sales. However, indole carbinol is used relatively successfully for treatment as part of the completely official drug “Indinol Forto”, but it is contained there in a precise dosage, which is usually not the case in dietary supplements. The effectiveness of mastophyte is questionable.
  • Ekstal-5 mastopathy contains more than 20 herbs, of which ziziphora and kopeck are declared the most significant. These plants are also being studied by scientists, but research has not yet gone further than mice. However, this is enough to include them in dietary supplements and declare them miraculous. The effect has not been proven.
  • Mastovit is nothing more than a multivitamin complex, as well as garlic and green tea in the form of extracts. Iodine is also included here, which, together with other components, “powerfully stimulates regenerative and reparative processes” in the mammary gland. Needless to say, there is nothing to regenerate with mastopathy, because there is no damage (this is not purulent mastitis!), there is excessive tissue growth! The effect of mastovitis is no higher than when taking conventional multivitamins.
  • Evening primrose oil is another supplement that is credited with excellent effectiveness. Judging by the reviews on the Internet, this oil dissolves nodes, closes cysts and simply eliminates chest pain. We don't know how true they are. Science operates with evidence, but there is none yet. That is why evening primrose oil is so far used only in the form of dietary supplements.

In fact, there are a great many dietary supplements offered for the treatment of mastopathy. They contain everything from essential oils, “whose smell has a tonic effect on the entire body,” to substances with unproven effectiveness that “have antioxidant, bactericidal and anti-inflammatory properties,” although neither inflammation, nor bacterial infection, nor the appearance of free radicals are not typical for mastopathy. Taking dietary supplements for mastopathy is pure fiction, which costs money, but is not worth the effort.

Herbal treatment

Herbal medicine is a good method of treating many diseases. Before the advent of synthetic drugs, herbs were used to treat everything that ailed people. Some of the medicinal plants are still used in official medicine. Moreover, there is now a lot of scientific research into the effectiveness of “the contents of nature’s pantry.” However, so far there are no effective herbal medicines for mastopathy, at least in official medicine. Any herbal treatment in your case is at your own peril and risk.

Celandine

A very popular remedy “for a hundred diseases”. According to available information, celandine, thanks to vitamins, histamine-like substances and alkaloids, improves microcirculation in the mammary gland, helps prevent the process from becoming malignant, suppresses pain and inflammation. It is used as an infusion (a dessert spoon of herb per glass of boiling water, steam for an hour in a thermos, drink the entire glass during the day), alcohol tincture (1 tablespoon of herb per glass of vodka, leave for 2 weeks, drink 1 dessert spoon per day) , an ointment made from ground flowers mixed with visceral fat, which is rubbed into the sore chest for a month or more. It should be remembered that an overdose of celandine can lead to serious poisoning, since this herb is toxic.

Along with celandine, other plants are also used. For example, for fibrocystic mastopathy, use mixtures containing dandelion (3 parts), yarrow (3 parts), eucalyptus (2 parts), valerian (1 part), pine needles (2 parts), burdock (2 parts), nettle (2 parts), burdock (2 parts), strawberries (2 parts), St. John's wort (3 parts). Sometimes wormwood, string, fennel, and sweet clover are added to this herbal tea. Thanks to phytoestrogens, these herbal complexes suppress the production of substances that provoke tumor growth. At least that’s what “traditional healers” think.

Science, however, says that it is estrogens that provoke the development of mastopathy, so it would be better to reduce their quantity, but alternative medicine looks at this in the diametrically opposite way. Probably, the principle “treat like with like” is at work here, although to a sane person this may resemble putting out a fire with gasoline.

Even green tea is credited with healing properties for mastopathy. Its antioxidants and tannins, flavonoids and essential oils are supposedly able to reverse the process. Of course, green tea is healthy, according to some data, even more beneficial than black tea, but you can’t count on it alone in treating the disease. It is too weak to affect the glandular tissue of the affected organ, and is completely powerless to influence the development of fibrous tissue, much less an already formed cyst.

Nevertheless, it is quite possible to recommend it for a general increase in body tone and to improve the psychological status of a woman. After all, mastopathy is a very unpleasant disease, from which a woman sometimes experiences some suffering. So let the sick woman have something pleasant.

Application of burdock

One of the most popular recipes from the manuscripts of herbalists is the use of burdock for mastopathy. Everything is used - the leaves that are applied to the mammary glands, the root, the plant itself and the juice from it. There are quite a few recipes, the simplest one is to apply the leaves with the bottom side (the one where the veins protrude more strongly) onto the diseased mammary gland overnight. It is better to beat them first with a meat hammer so that they release a little juice. The course of treatment takes a month, but if necessary, it can be extended indefinitely.

The advantage of burdock root is that it can be stored for a long time, unlike the upper part of the plant. You just collect it in the first year (already in the second year they become hard, like wood), wash it and put it in the shade to dry. You can cut it into pieces - it will dry faster. After complete drying, the root can be put into bags and stored until next year. It is applied like this:

  • take a tablespoon (some recipes suggest taking two tablespoons) of the root and pour a glass of vodka;
  • put it in a cold place for a week, having previously tightly sealed it;
  • use for compresses after straining.

Another option for use is to crush the fresh root, mix it with lard passed through a meat grinder, put it on a napkin and place it on the sore mammary gland overnight. 5 procedures performed a week before menstruation are enough. Burdock oil is sometimes used instead of lard.

Burdock juice is also used in the treatment of disease, and not only mastopathy. To combat the latter, it is either rubbed into the chest or compresses are made from it at night. You can drink 2 tablespoons of it twice a day.

Cabbage leaf

Supporters of alternative treatment generally consider cabbage almost a panacea. They did not bypass mastopathy either. And if earlier it was simply advised, now a “sort of” scientific basis is provided for its use. So, many articles use arguments like:

  • contains vitamins, indole, methionine and phytoncides;
  • has antitumor, immunostimulating, hormone-regulating and antioxidant effects;
  • capable of stopping everything that can be stopped and starting what can’t be started.

Of course, no one gives clear facts, but this does not prevent cabbage from being used for mastopathy in the following way:

  • apply the whole cabbage leaf to the sore breast at night;
  • Apply chopped cabbage to the sore mammary gland at night for 14 days;
  • apply honey to the leaf and make compresses from it;
  • drink a third of a glass of juice squeezed from the crushed plant; Sometimes it is suggested to add the juice of a third of a lemon.

The latter, by the way, is recommended to be mixed with garlic. To do this, 10 unpeeled lemons and 10 peeled medium heads of garlic are passed through a meat grinder (you can use a blender), placed in a three-liter jar, filled with boiled cooled water to the top and left for 2 weeks. Drink a tablespoon three times a day. Course - 2 months. Alcohol is strictly prohibited.

Badyaga

Badyaga has also become very popular among supporters of a healthy lifestyle, especially in recent years. Unfortunately, this substance is of animal origin and does not contain components that penetrate to the pathological focus. For this reason, its use for mastopathy is possible only in one case - if you do not even listen to the advice of “traditional doctors”. There will be no effect.

Saline dressings for mastopathy

A very popular and practically free recipe for salt dressings is gaining great popularity among women with mastopathy. There are a lot of explanations on the Internet for their apparent effectiveness, based on the ability of salt to “draw fluid from soft tissues. Needless to say, the water it draws is actually drawn only from the skin, but not from the gland itself. In addition, fluid is not the biggest problem with mastopathy. It is much more important to suppress the excess growth of fibrous and glandular tissue, and table salt cannot cope with this.

If you could not be convinced of the ineffectiveness of this remedy, then here are recipes for its use:

  • Dry compress. The salt in a wool bag is heated to 70-80 degrees and applied to the chest. This will help relieve pain, but will not have a therapeutic effect.
  • Hot lotions. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of salt in a liter of boiling water, moisten a napkin with the resulting solution and apply it to the chest.
  • Cold compress. 100 grams of salt are dissolved in a liter of boiling water, cooled and a compress is made from the resulting saline solution overnight.

Birch tar

In case of mastopathy, birch tar is sometimes used to reduce inflammation, reduce pain and, most importantly, prevent the process from becoming malignant. It is usually used internally with milk, since in its pure form it is simply impossible to even put it in the mouth. Each healer seems to have his own regimen. Usually they start by taking three drops per day per 100 ml of milk, adding 2 drops every 2 days until there are 7 drops. On the tenth day, a break is taken for 10 days, after which the scheme is repeated, already reducing the number of drops.

Some ladies apply tar to sore breasts, but this rarely happens because of its specific smell. I would like to seriously warn such people: tar is a carcinogen and when taken systematically, the risk of skin cancer increases hundreds of times! The same is true for oral administration. This substance will not create any medical effect, and it can cause a lot of problems.

Leeches for mastopathy

The use of leeches, or hirudotherapy, is sometimes used in the presence of small nodes in the mammary glands. This method can actually slow down the process somewhat, improve blood circulation in the affected organ, and normalize lymph flow. Cure will not cure, but it will alleviate the condition.

Of course, using this method at home is unacceptable. Hirudotherapists use special medicinal leeches grown in sterile conditions. The specialist knows where to attach it, and how many leeches are needed, and how many sessions should be carried out. Contraindications: pregnancy, hemophilia and other coagulopathies, arterial hypotension.

Bee products

This is perhaps the most controversial method. Propolis, honey, dead bees - all these substances are successfully used for a huge number of diseases, but no one has studied their effectiveness, and no one knows what the results should be. Nevertheless, beekeeping products are quite suitable as means of improving the condition of the body as a whole. You should not rely on them alone, but as part of complex therapy they can be used without restrictions. The main thing is that there are no allergies.

Honey is usually used together with one or another plant (burdock, coltsfoot, cabbage, aloe, grated beets, etc.) in the form of compresses. Sometimes it is mixed with herbs, also applying the resulting “honey mixture” to the mammary gland.

Propolis is used as follows: 100 g is mixed with a liter of alcohol, infused for 20 days and taken 25-30 ml per day, of course, after filtering. It is believed that after its use, small nodules resolve, and large ones decrease in size. With diffuse forms, regression of symptoms also occurs.

Dead bees are used in the form of a water infusion for compresses (200 g of dead bees per glass of boiling water are steamed for an hour, and the resulting slurry is applied to the chest) and alcohol tincture (2 tablespoons are poured with half a liter of vodka and infused in a dark place for 2 weeks; drink 20 drops three times a day). It is believed that heparins and heparoids from bee corpses can eliminate many signs of mastopathy. The truth is that heparin is not used in the treatment of this particular disease, since it does not have any effect on the pathological growth of cells.

Oils for mastopathy

Various types of oils are also very popular in folk medicine and are also used for mastopathy. For some reason, it is believed that they contain a lot of substances that are beneficial for the breast. I would like to dwell on some of them in more detail.

Mastopathy in women develops at the age of 30-50 years, the main predisposing factors are hormonal changes and disruptions, absence of pregnancy and lactation before 30 years, breast injuries, stress and others. Benign tumors in the breast have different densities and sizes; depending on the stage of the disease, appropriate treatment is applied. Folk remedies for treating mastopathy in the early stages help to completely cure the disease without drug therapy and no side effects.

Mastopathy and features of its development

As mastopathy develops, it can take on various forms - diffuse, nodular, cystic (or cystic-nodular), fibrocystic (determined by examination). The last two forms are the most unpleasant, do not respond well to drug therapy and can degenerate into malignant tumors. In this case, surgical treatment is often used to eliminate tumor foci. Therefore, after 30 years, an annual visit to a mammologist and gynecologist should become mandatory for a woman, and if symptoms of mastopathy appear, it is not recommended to postpone a visit to the doctor, since the disease develops quickly.

Taking into account the stage of development of the disease, a treatment regimen is prescribed. At first, traditional medicine recipes are effective; they should be used after consultation with a doctor. Alternative treatment should be used as an additional measure to the main course of treatment. Such therapy will not cause harm, since it is based on the use of natural remedies. Non-traditional treatment of mastopathy should be comprehensive and include means aimed at generally strengthening the body (immunity), reducing nodular formations, sedatives and local action to reduce pain.

It is necessary to use folk remedies in the treatment of mastopathy until complete healing, unless otherwise indicated in the recipes.

When using alternative medicine recipes in the treatment of mastopathy, it is recommended not to overuse tanning, including going to the solarium, since ultraviolet radiation adversely affects the affected areas of the breast, slowing down recovery. When using folk remedies in the treatment of mastopathy, regularity, patience and perseverance are important, because the disease manifests itself differently in each woman, and accordingly, healing does not occur in the same way. Some people need a month, others three. The main thing is not to give up and act in tandem with your doctor.

Mastopathy is the most common benign disease of the mammary glands.

How does mastopathy manifest itself - symptoms?
  • Painful engorgement, swelling of the breast before menstruation.
  • Pain in one or both breasts.
  • Fine-grained (or in the form of separate nodes) painful formations (cysts, fibroadenomas), which are determined by touch.
  • Discharge from the nipples of various types not associated with lactation.
Why is mastopathy dangerous?

By her own benign mastopathy is not dangerous. But any changes, especially lumps in the breast, are a serious reason to consult a doctor.

Mastopathy increases the risk of developing breast cancer.

Breast tissue is constantly under the influence of various hormones secreted by the endocrine glands: pituitary gland, thyroid gland, adrenal glands, ovaries, etc.

In addition, breast tissue subtly responds to the “hormonal swings” of the reproductive period - monthly hormonal fluctuations associated with the menstrual cycle.

Any deviations in hormonal balance from the norm can cause pathological changes in the tissues of the mammary glands.

The main causes of hormonal imbalance in women:
  • Stress.
  • Gynecological diseases and/or functional disorders of the female reproductive system.
  • Complicated pregnancy.
  • Medical abortion, miscarriage.
  • Metabolic (including obesity), neuroendocrine disorders.
  • Thyroid diseases.
  • Diseases of the liver and biliary tract.
  • Chronic inflammation.
  • Hereditary predisposition.
  • Immunity impairment.

The main principle of treating mastopathy– identification and eliminating the cause hormonal imbalance:

  • Treatment of gynecological diseases.
  • Optimization of general metabolism, treatment of obesity, liver diseases, endocrine and nervous disorders.
  • Combating chronic stress.
  • Strengthening immunity, hardening, healthy lifestyle.

How to treat mastopathy with folk remedies?

Basic principles of treatment:

  • Duration and continuity.
  • Integrated approach: diet, folk herbal recipes, adaptogens, compresses, gymnastics.
  • Traditional methods do not replace, but complement the treatment prescribed by the doctor.

Special gymnastics– an effective treatment for mastopathy (see video) Thanks to the exercise therapy complex, lymph and blood flow in the thoracic region is accelerated, and the condition of the breast improves. By restoring hormonal levels and metabolism, gymnastics strengthens the nervous system and improves mood.

Phytotherapy

To relieve swelling, pain and inflammation in breast tissue, to strengthen the immune system, evacuate excess estrogen and improve hormonal levels, traditional medicine successfully uses herbal medicine.

Chronic stress disrupts the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian system and causes hormonal disruptions. To combat it, plant adaptogens and soothing herbs are used.

Medicinal raw materials for decoctions, infusions and herbal teas (filter bags) can be purchased at the pharmacy and used according to the instructions indicated on the packaging.

According to statistics, every 3 women in our country are faced with a disease such as mastopathy. Doctors are sounding the alarm and citing disappointing facts. If previously girls over 25 years old went to the doctor with symptoms of mastopathy, now teenagers are also susceptible to this disease.

Mastopathy is a disease in which benign processes occur in the mammary gland. Without proper treatment, as well as against the background of gynecological pathologies, a benign tumor can develop into a malignant one. Women facing this problem should be regularly examined by a mammologist and gynecologist.

Symptoms of mastopathy

Doctors strongly advise every woman to conduct an independent examination in order to identify the problem in time. If you feel an uncharacteristic lump in your chest or feel pain in this area, consult a doctor immediately.

Main signs of the disease:

  • Pain in the chest;
  • Lumps or nodules in the breast;
  • Enlargement or swelling of the mammary glands;
  • Nipple discharge;
  • Inflammation of the lymph nodes in the armpits.

The manifestation of any of these symptoms is a reason to consult a specialist. For many women who know from their own experience what mastopathy is, treatment with folk remedies has become a real salvation. Traditional medicine uses pills and medicines.

Types of mastopathy

There are 2 types of mastopathy: nodular and diffuse.

  • Nodular (focal) mastopathy manifested by the presence of multiple and single nodules in the chest. This form of the disease is considered dangerous as it can cause cancer. Seals can be located in one or both mammary glands.
  • Diffuse mastopathy unlike focal, it is not so dangerous. It is characterized by swelling of the mammary glands and granular lumps that can be felt in different points of the chest. Without treatment, the lumps become more severe.

Reasons for the development of mastopathy

Often the cause of the development of mastopathy is a hormonal imbalance, which occurs against the background of bad habits, unhealthy lifestyle and diseases of internal organs.

The main causes of mastopathy:

  • Dysfunction of the adrenal glands and thyroid gland;
  • Stress, neuroses, depression, chronic fatigue;
  • Abortion;
  • Genetic predisposition;
  • Irregular sex life or lack thereof;
  • Liver diseases;
  • Excess weight with elevated blood sugar and high blood pressure;
  • Excessive use of tanning;
  • The lactation period is less than 6 months or its complete absence;
  • Inflammation and tumors of the ovaries;
  • Smoking, drinking alcohol, unhealthy diet;
  • Physical trauma to the mammary glands, tight bras and clothing;
  • Iodine deficiency;
  • No pregnancy before age 30.

The key to women's health is regular sex life, having children, breastfeeding, daily exercise, positive emotions, proper food, and the absence of bad habits. As soon as a hormonal imbalance occurs, diseases begin to appear, including mastopathy.

Diagnosis of mastopathy

A woman can identify mastopathy on her own by regularly palpating the mammary glands. In medical institutions, a more detailed, comprehensive examination is carried out, consisting of several stages:

  • Questioning and examination by a mammologist;
  • Mammography;
  • Ultrasound of the mammary glands;
  • Hormonal studies;
  • Ultrasound of the pelvic organs.

At the first appointment, the mammologist conducts a survey and examination. The examination consists of superficial and deep palpation of the chest in a lying and standing position, since some formations may shift depending on the position of the body. The doctor examines the nipples for abnormal discharge. Palpation of the thyroid gland, lymph nodes in the armpits and supraclavicular areas is also performed.

Mammography allows you to recognize the type of mastopathy and identify the degree of pathology in the mammary gland. In order for the picture to show a reliable picture, it is taken on days 7-10 of the menstrual cycle.

Ultrasound of the mammary glands is a fairly simple, painless and safe diagnostic method that allows you to accurately determine the structure of the lump in the mammary gland. Ultrasound, like mammography, is done on days 5-10 of the menstrual cycle.

If the doctor suspects cancer, the woman is prescribed a biopsy. The procedure involves taking a piece of tissue from the affected area using a thin needle and sending it for histological examination.

Hormonal studies show the level of progesterone and estrogen. If necessary, a study of thyroid and adrenal hormones is prescribed.

If ovarian pathology is detected, an appointment with a gynecologist is scheduled. Additionally, a liver examination is possible.

Often mastopathy is found during a routine examination by a mammologist in the complete absence of symptoms. The earlier the disease is detected, the better. If you are diagnosed with mastopathy, treatment with folk remedies will help cope with the disease.

When treating mastopathy, it is important to adhere to a diet and follow the principles of a healthy lifestyle. Women need to monitor the quality of their sleep and sleep at least 7-8 hours. It is advisable to minimize the consumption of alcohol, chocolate, strong tea, coffee, and cocoa. During treatment, it is recommended to drink more pure water or high-quality green tea. If you cannot wake up in the morning without a cup of coffee, then try replacing it with chicory.

The following products must be present in the diet: white boiled meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, whole grain bread, cereals, herbal teas. It is important to monitor your emotional state and avoid stress. The bra should be chosen strictly according to size, otherwise breast deformation may occur. For mastopathy, visiting a bathhouse, sauna, solarium, or prolonged exposure to the sun is contraindicated.

The resulting mixture should be stored in the refrigerator. The ointment is used as a compress. It is first cooled to room temperature, then a thick layer is applied to parchment paper and applied to the chest. It is important that the paper with ointment completely covers the chest up to the armpits. You can put a warm cloth over the compress and put a bra on top for fixation. This procedure must be carried out around the clock. The ointment should be changed once a day. The chest should be washed with warm water and soap, wiped, and the parchment with a new portion of ointment should be applied on top. If you want to speed up the process, then try combining traditional and traditional medicine. Consult your doctor and ask him to prescribe the most gentle remedies. Mastopathy is a disease with which almost half of women on the entire planet live. But this does not mean that it does not need to be treated. There is no need for therapy when the woman does not feel pain and the tumor does not increase in size. Otherwise, the disease requires careful diagnosis (ultrasound - once every six months) and treatment, which should only be carried out under the supervision of a doctor. Self-therapy can lead to disastrous consequences in the form of transformation of a benign tumor into a malignant one.
