Analogs of the drug sermion are presented, in accordance with medical terminology, called “synonyms” - drugs that are interchangeable in their effect on the body, containing one or more identical active ingredients. When selecting synonyms, consider not only their cost, but also the country of production and the reputation of the manufacturer.

Description of the drug

Sermion- A drug that improves cerebral and peripheral blood circulation, an alpha-blocker.

Nicergoline, a derivative of ergoline, improves metabolic and hemodynamic processes in the brain. Reduces platelet aggregation and improves the rheological properties of blood, increases the speed of blood flow in the upper and lower limbs. It has an alpha 1-adrenergic blocking effect, which improves blood flow. Renders direct impact on cerebral neurotransmitter systems (noradrenergic, dopaminergic and acetylcholinergic), increasing their activity, which helps optimize cognitive processes.

As a result of long-term therapy with nicergoline, a persistent improvement in cognitive function and a decrease in the severity of behavioral disorders associated with dementia were observed.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamic properties
Sermion is an ergoline derivative that improves metabolic and hemodynamic processes in the brain, reduces platelet aggregation and improves hematopoietic blood parameters, increases the speed of blood flow in the upper and lower extremities, and exhibits an alpha-1-adrenergic blocking effect.
Pharmacokinetic properties
After oral administration, Sermion is quickly and almost completely absorbed. The main metabolic products of nicergoline are 1,6-dimethyl-8 β-hydroxymethyl-10 α-methoxyergoline (MMDL, a hydrolysis product) and 6-methyl-8 β-hydroxymethyl-10α-methoxyergoline (MDL, a demethylation product by the CYP2D6 isoenzyme). Ratio of the area under the concentration-time curve (AUC) for MMDL and MDL after oral administration and intravenous administration nicergoline indicates a pronounced first-pass metabolism. After oral administration of 30 mg of nicergoline, maximum concentrations of MMDL (21 ± 14 ig/ml) and MDL (41 ± 14 ng/ml) were achieved after approximately 1 and 4 hours, respectively, then the concentration of MDL decreased with a half-life of 13 - 20 hours. Studies confirm no accumulation of other metabolites (including MMDL) in the blood. Food intake or dosage form do not have a significant effect on the degree and rate of absorption of nicergoline. Sermion actively (> 90%) binds to plasma proteins, and the degree of its affinity for the α-acid of the glycoprotein is greater than for serum albumin. It has been shown that Sermion and its metabolites can be distributed in blood cells. The pharmacokinetics of nicergoline when using doses up to 60 mg is linear and does not change depending on the age of the patient.
Sermion is excreted in the form of metabolites, mainly in the urine (approximately 80% of the total dose), and in small amounts (10-20%) in feces. In patients with severe renal failure There was a significant decrease in the degree of excretion of metabolic products in the urine compared to patients with normal function kidney

Indications for use

- acute and chronic cerebral metabolic and vascular disorders(due to atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension, thrombosis or embolism of cerebral vessels, including transient cerebral attack, vascular dementia and headache caused by vasospasm);
- acute and chronic peripheral metabolic and vascular disorders (organic and functional arteriopathy of the extremities, Raynaud's disease, syndromes caused by impaired peripheral blood flow);
- as an additional means in treatment hypertensive crises(parenteral).

Contraindications

Recent myocardial infarction, acute bleeding, severe bradycardia, impaired orthostatic regulation, increased sensitivity to nicergoline or other components of the drug.
Carefully
History of hyperuricemia or gout and/or in combination with drugs that impair metabolism or excretion uric acid.

Pregnancy and lactation

Due to the lack of special studies during pregnancy, Sermion should be used only if there is a clear need and under the direct supervision of a physician. While taking the drug, you must stop breastfeeding, because Sermion and its metabolic products pass into mother's milk.

Directions for use and doses

Tablets 5 mg. 10 mg and 30 mg
Orally: 5 - 10 mg three times a day with equal intervals between doses for long period time (up to several months). For vascular dementia, the use of 30 mg 2 times a day is indicated (it is recommended to consult a doctor every 6 months about the advisability of continuing therapy).
Lyophilisate for the preparation of solution for injection
Intramuscular: 2 - 4 mg (2-4 ml) twice a day.
Intravenously: slow infusion of 4 - 8 mg in 100 ml of sodium chloride solution 0.9% or dextrose solution 5% - 10%; If prescribed by a doctor, this dose can be administered several times a day.
Intra-arterial: 4 mg in 10 ml of sodium chloride solution 0.9%; the drug is administered over 2 minutes.
It is recommended to use the reconstituted solution immediately after preparation.
The dose, duration of therapy and route of administration depend on the nature of the disease. In some cases, it is preferable to begin therapy with parenteral administration and then switch to oral administration of the drug for maintenance treatment.
In patients with impaired renal function (serum creatinine ≥2 mg/dL), Sermion is recommended to be used in lower therapeutic doses.

Side effects

Rarely - a pronounced decrease in blood pressure (BP), mainly after parenteral administration, dizziness, dyspeptic symptoms, a feeling of heat, skin rashes, drowsiness or insomnia. It is possible to increase the concentration of uric acid in the blood, and this effect does not depend on the dose and duration of therapy. Side effects are usually mild or moderate.

Overdose

Symptoms: transient pronounced decrease in blood pressure. Special treatment is usually not required; the patient just needs to take a horizontal position for a few minutes. In exceptional cases, in case of severe disruption of the blood supply to the brain and heart, it is recommended to administer sympathomimetic drugs under constant monitoring of blood pressure.

Interaction with other drugs

Sermion may enhance the effect of antihypertensive drugs. Sermion is metabolized by the cytochrome CYP450 2D6, so the possibility of its interaction with drugs that are metabolized with the participation of the same enzyme cannot be excluded.

special instructions

In therapeutic doses, Sermion, as a rule, does not affect arterial pressure, however, in patients arterial hypertension it can cause it to gradually decline.
After parenteral administration of Sermion®, patients are recommended to remain in horizontal position within a few minutes after injection, especially at the beginning of treatment, due to possible appearance hypotension.
The drug acts gradually, so it should be taken for a long time, and the doctor should periodically (at least every 6 months) evaluate the effect of treatment and the advisability of continuing it.
Impact on the ability to drive a car and other mechanisms
Despite the fact that Sermion improves reaction and concentration, its effect on the ability to drive a car and use complex equipment has not been specifically studied. In any case, caution should be exercised given the nature of the underlying disease.

In modern neurological practice, in order to improve brain activity, many medicines different class.

- a drug intended to improve cerebral and peripheral circulation, used in the treatment of numerous other neurological disorders.

The medication has both an α-adrenergic blocking effect and antispasmodic activity. Improves metabolic processes and cerebral hemodynamics. It has antiplatelet properties, thereby improving blood rheology.

The country of origin of the medicine is Italy, which makes Sermion a rather expensive medicine for Russian patient, and this pushes the domestic buyer to look for similar products that are cheaper but of no less quality.

Advantages and disadvantages - know to understand

To understand for comparison what characteristics analogues should or should not have, let’s take a closer look at the main advantages of Sermion:

Like other medicines, Sermion has some disadvantages. So he has a number side effects. When using the drug, the patient may develop a fever, cool extremities, increase sweating, and begin.

The most common side effects are disorders gastrointestinal tract: loose stool or constipation, dispersion, nausea and vomiting, as well as increased stomach acidity, belching with a characteristic smell and taste.

Occasionally, side effects manifest themselves in the form of disruption of the central nervous system. nervous system: increased drowsiness or, conversely, insomnia, fatigue and irritability.

As a rule, all side effects occur due to misuse medicine.

TOP 10 analogues

Ten similar drugs, which can replace Sermion, many of them are much cheaper, but are in no way inferior in quality to expensive foreign products:

All analogue medications are available in two dosage forms: an injection solution in ampoules, and tablets in a special protective shell.

Comparative characteristics

When choosing one or another analogue, it is worth knowing which drug is better and what, let’s compare Sermion with the most popular synonyms.

Sermion or Nicergoline - which is better?

It’s worth starting with the active substance. In both medications it is nicergoline, so their effects on the body are identical.

The drugs are available in two forms - tablets and solution for injection. The dosage is also similar. The only difference is the duration of the course of treatment and the price.

When using Sermion, treatment will take at least 8 weeks, and when using Nicergoline - from 2 to 3 weeks. Price of medicines: 776 rubles and 346 rubles, respectively.

Vasobral - what is its strength?

Vasobral is a combination type drug and is used for chronic disorder blood circulation (Sermion is used to treat advanced, but not chronic stages), the release forms of the medications are similar, as are the instructions for use.

The main advantage of the medicine is the absence of contraindications and the possibility of its use during pregnancy. The cost is 776 rubles and 500 rubles, respectively.

Mexidol - what can we say about the popular analogue?

Mexidol is a medicine aimed at removing state of shock, which interferes with the normalization of blood circulation in the brain.

The active substance is ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate. Mexidol in tablet form is taken no more than 6 capsules per day. The course of treatment is 1.5 months.

Also, while taking this medicine, you should refrain from administering any vehicle, since the patient’s concentration and reaction speed are impaired. Cost in pharmacies: 776 rubles and 300 rubles, respectively.

Comparison with Cavinton

is a drug that increases blood flow and reduces it by dilating blood vessels.

The active element is vinpocetine. The medication is used for neurological diseases. Dosage form is similar to Sermion, as are the instructions for use.

The course of treatment in the first and second cases is at least 8 weeks. Cost: 500 rubles.

Features of using Trental

Trental improves blood microcirculation, due to which the patient also experiences chronic headaches. The active element is pentoxifylline.

The dosage form of release in the first and second cases is tablets and solution for injection. The method of application in the case of Trental is determined by body weight, age and individual characteristics patient. Cost: 350 rubles.

Of the cheaper analogues, Niceline and Nicegoline-Deco should also be highlighted. They have the same active substance - nitseline, and the cost does not exceed 250 rubles.

If the pharmacy does not have the right drug, the pharmacist offers analogues with almost identical composition, but at a lower cost. Are they as effective as the original drugs, and is it worth spending your time and money on such drugs?

What is a generic and why should you not be afraid of it?

These drugs are produced under a modified unique name of a patented product, which was recommended by WHO (World Health Organization). They represent a group of drugs whose patent protection period has expired, and as a result, their development can be carried out by companies that are able to master the technology of their production in compliance with the patent development frequency.

As a result, we get drugs with a long history of use and prices that do not include expensive development and testing. Most often they are called the chemical name of the original, which manufacturers replaced with a proprietary brand name.

For example, the drugs Sergoline and Nicergoline are considered analogues of Sermion. In the first case, the original name is changed to something consonant, and in the second, the name of the drug is identical to the active substance.

Drugs with the same composition may be in different price categories due to the fact that after purchasing a patent developed by scientists, it is necessary to recoup the money invested in it.

Why are cheap analogues better or worse than expensive drugs from pharmaceutical brands?

The main aspects of choosing an original drug or a cheap analogue:

  • Degree of purification side effects. Drugs with improved second or third generation formulations have fewer side effects due to their high purity, although healing effect Both types of drugs have the same effect.
  • Compare Suprastin and Telfast though. The first drug is effective, but causes drowsiness and negatively affects performance, while the second drug does not have these disadvantages, but is expensive.
  • Original medicines have wide range actions. Theraflu not only solves the problem with high temperature, but also suppresses allergic reactions, contains, and simple Paracetamol has no additional properties.

Generics are less convenient to use. Unlike expensive medicines Cheap drugs require taking longer and more often, but they are cheaper.

Sergoin

One of the generics of Sermion. Available in the form of tablets, each of which contains 30 g of nicergoline. The main indications for use of the drug are:

  • Amnesia
  • conduct disorder
  • Hearing loss, dizziness
  • Low concentration
  • Fickle mood

Before obtaining the first results, you must take the drug one tablet once a day. They are usually drunk in the morning before meals, washed down boiled water. For kidney problems, the dose is usually reduced; if stomach discomfort occurs, the medication should be taken with meals.

The drug has a number of contraindications that must be taken into account before starting a course of treatment:

  • Sensitivity to nicergoline
  • The period of bearing or feeding a child

The drug causes increased fatigue, so it is recommended to refrain from operating mechanisms that require increased concentration.

Nicerium 30 UNO

Like the previous analogue, this drug is available in tablet form and contains 30 g active substance. It is used to treat:

  • After a stroke
  • Acquired dementia
  • When concentration is impaired
  • Frequent mood changes

It is enough to take 1 tablet per day; after the first positive effect of taking the medicine appears, you can subsequently reduce the dose. For those diagnosed with kidney problems, the dose is initially prescribed less than the standard dose.

The drug has side effects that should be taken into account when choosing between it and original drug Sermion:

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Redness
  • Stomach and intestinal problems
  • Sweating
  • Ejaculation problems
  • Sleep problems

The effect of treatment with the drug depends on the duration of the course of treatment.

Nicergoline

This drug is somewhat cheaper than Sermion. It is designed to improve blood circulation and activate brain metabolism. It is prescribed to those who struggle with migraines, suffer from vascular diseases, arterial hypertension

The drug is prohibited for use when:

  • Acute
  • Carrying a child during lactation

Take the medicine 2 or three times a day, no more than 10 mg at each dose. The course of taking the drug lasts about 2-3 months.

While watching the video you will learn about generics.

Will there be any benefit from saving on expensive ones? Considering that generic drugs contain fewer active ingredients, are taken more often than new drugs, and provoke more side effects, it is impossible to answer this question unambiguously. In some cases this will be advisable, but only the attending physician can always give accurate information.
