Generics, this wonderful English word(generic), called analogue of medicine, which is sold under an off-patent name. Thus, a generic is an interchangeable medicine that differs only in name, but has the same composition, the same active substance and has the same therapeutic effect. Our task is not to delve into the legal terminology associated with generics, but to find out what cheap analogues of expensive drugs exist.
What is the easiest way to identify interchangeable drugs? The answer is simple: find, on the Internet, the main active ingredient of the medicine and its quantity (volume) in the drug and compare the analogues offered by pharmacists and doctors.
It has long been no secret that many doctors feed on the medications they prescribe to patients. Often doctor's share, which he receives from the pharmacy, is more than 30% of the cost of the drug. Thus, it becomes more relevant than ever popular expression“The rescue of drowning people is the work of the drowning people themselves.”
Therefore, friends, don’t chase brands, visit at least 2 doctors with your problem, of course, without telling about the diagnosis and treatment regimen proposed by the previous doctor. Take the time to read the annotation for the drug, find the main active ingredient of the drug, and you will find at least 2-3 cheap analogues of the expensive drug. Below are tables of interchangeable drugs or domestic generics.
In the table comparing interchangeable drugs, the price of the drug was not specifically indicated, since prices are not stable and change depending on market conditions, exchange rates and other micro and macroeconomic factors. For this reason, instead of the price of a generic drug, the ratio of the price of an expensive drug and its domestic analogue is indicated.

In conclusion, I would like to note that do not self-medicate, be sure to consult a doctor, preferably several, about taking this or that medication.
They cost several times, you need to understand the system for creating and selling medicines. Original drugs are the first to appear on the pharmaceutical market. Factory spends great amount money to develop the drug and ultimately receives a patent for production and distribution. As a rule, the validity period of a patent is 10 years. During this time, no one has the right to create medicines.
Once the patent expires, the drug becomes available to everyone. It is from this moment that the creation of analogues begins.
Thus it turns out that original drug it costs several times more because it has been tested by people for 10 years. In addition to the costs of developing the drug, huge amounts of money were also spent on refining and improving it.
What are the differences between cheap analogues of expensive drugs?
Firstly, it is worth noting that not all analogs have a completely identical composition to the original. Most often, only the active substance is identical. But in addition to it, the medicine also contains additional elements responsible for the delivery of the substance, its absorption into the body and activation. But it is thanks to additional substances that some drugs act as quickly as possible.
Typically large pharmaceutical companies take care of high quality raw materials. It also takes a lot of money to process and clean it. Cheap analogues very often contain substances that do not best quality, brought from India and Eastern Europe.
You can also notice that using the original, the patient gets back on his feet in a matter of days, but there is no effect from taking generics. And although, at first glance, the compositions of these two drugs are the same, the effect is different. This is because research was carried out on the originals for 10 years under exclusive rights. There may simply be a tiny difference in composition that cannot be calculated or standardized, as a result of which the effectiveness of the original has become much higher.
What to take? Original or analogue
First of all, you need to look at the severity of the disease. If a person’s life depends on a medicine, then there is no point in experimenting. It is better to take a time-tested drug. If the disease is not critical, then you can try taking an analogue. There is a possibility that the generic will have a similar effect on the body as the original, and will cost an order of magnitude less.
It is important to remember which analogues did not work previously. Most likely, if you purchase them again, they will also not give any effect.
We are all accustomed to the fact that every drug has its own analogues or generics. You can often find a replacement for an expensive imported drug among the many domestic medicines or medicines manufactured in “third world countries”. Interchangeable drugs (table attached) are, in fact, drugs that are based on one active substance.
Why are originals so expensive?
Often, when purchasing a regular cold remedy at a pharmacy, you have to spend quite a considerable amount. So the question arises: “Are there interchangeable drugs? What do we pay a lot of money for?”
But it's not that simple. There's a pretty compelling reason set prices for many drugs. Of course, not all of them are completely effective, but compared to their analogues they deserve preference.
What's the matter? There is a phrase: “Do you want those that exist, or those that cure?” Of course, analogue drugs are not placebos. Many of them improve the quality of life and help improve the health of people who cannot spend a fortune on it. However, it happens that drugs made from cheap raw materials do not bring the expected effect. It all depends on the manufacturer and his integrity.
The principle of pricing of expensive and cheap drugs
If we go into detail, explaining the difference in action medicines with the same active substance, then it is worth noting the essence of the analogy. Not every flour can be used to make a loaf! It seems to be wheat flour, but one of them produces only pancakes, and the other produces any kind of baked goods.
So, as part of cheap raw materials used for production inexpensive drugs locally manufactured (or in third world countries), except for the main active substance some impurities are present. Poorly purified chemical raw materials can ultimately give a slight negative result, which most often manifests itself as a side effect or an allergic reaction.
Expensive purified raw materials are used for the production of medicines with a higher pricing policy.
Import substitution
Nowadays the question of import substitution often arises. However, not every original medicine can be replaced with an analogue one. Alas, a number of drugs have no equal in treatment. For example, drugs to treat oncological diseases, hereditary diseases and joint diseases have no equal among analogues, for example, Alflutop.
There is a so-called Wyshkowski index, which determines the degree of benefit of drugs and its popularity. Guided by this index, you can determine your choice the required drug from the entire mass of analogues. It sometimes happens that an analogue is more popular and more effective than its original “brother”.
What is an analog drug?
Analogues or generics are drugs that do not have a patent and do not differ in composition from the patented development. However, all these drugs differ from the original drugs in the qualitative and quantitative composition of additional substances.
An analogue is a kind of copy, but not a fake! After the license for original medicines expires, manufacturing companies quickly copy the composition of the drug, replacing some of the ingredients with cheaper ones. As a result, pharmacies offer their clients plenty of cheaper drugs. And the companies that developed the original, and did a lot of work on testing and research, end up losing. Large turnovers from sales of analogues bring fabulous income, but at the same time help people with low incomes survive in cruel market conditions.
It is this fact that forced manufacturers of original medicines to begin producing analogues themselves in countries with low prices. At the same time, companies monitor the quality of all products. Conflict situations the use of analogues should not negatively affect the reputation of the original. Therefore, analogues produced at renowned pharmaceutical factories are preferable.
Copies and fakes
In addition to analogues, there are also copies of drugs that are truly So, in Belarus they tried to launch an analogue of Tamiflu into production, while raw materials of dubious quality were purchased in China. The result was that the produced drug did not have any therapeutic effect.
The most dangerous drugs for health are counterfeits (these are not interchangeable drugs, the table of which is in the article)! These drugs are produced at local pharmaceutical factories, outside normal hours, but more often this is done in unsanitary conditions and without observing basic hygiene rules and standards, in basements and barns. “Medicines” arrive in pharmacies through roundabout routes, reach sick people and cause irreparable harm to health. It is these drugs that threaten a doctor’s reputation and cause enormous damage to the industry.
Below is a table of foreign medicines of original production, taking into account the Vyshkovsky index, in conjunction with their analogue, cheaper “brothers”. These are more than 48 pairs of interchangeable drugs that are frequently prescribed.

This is the so-called list of interchangeable drugs. It is not complete, of course, since new analogues are constantly appearing, and old drugs that have become irrelevant disappear. In principle, every major pharmacy has its own table - analogues of expensive drugs.
Prescribing medications
When prescribing medications for treatment, the doctor must, first of all, take into account the patient’s social status and income. Rich people are used to paying for the speed of results, for the quality of treatment, for the brand. The rest combine the quality of drugs with their cost. You can’t drive the patient into a corner by prescribing an expensive original - he won’t buy it anyway.
Treatment is carried out using “grandmother’s advice” or is not carried out at all. If you prescribe such a patient inexpensive analogue, there is a possibility that the assignment will be fulfilled. This will happen because the cost of the drugs will not frighten the patient to the same extent as the price of an expensive original will frighten him. That is why the table “Analogs of expensive drugs” will be very useful.
I would like to add to all of the above: never purchase medicines from your own hands. In this case, there is no guarantee that this is a medicine and not a poison or a “dummy”. In a pharmacy, to confirm the quality of drugs, you can ask the pharmacist to provide accompanying documents if there is doubt about their production, as well as familiarize yourself with available analogues or substitutes. “Interchangeable drugs: table” will come in very handy here.
Roszdravnadzor blacklist
Roszdravnadzor has determined a black list. That is, it is better not to use their interchangeable drugs (table), which are analogues of well-known world brands, in treatment. It has been established by testing methods that those produced at these factories medical supplies are of dubious quality. Among them: “Belmedpreparaty”, “Tatfarmkhimpreparaty”, “Biokhimik”, “Herbion Pakistan”, “Farmak”, “Sagmel Inc”, “Dalkhimpharm”, “Biosintez” and others.
In conclusion, I would like to add that before purchasing a medicine, you should read the accompanying instructions, which indicate all its advantages in treatment and a number of side effects. There is a table of foreign medicines for this purpose. When choosing an analogue, you should consult your doctor.
The choice of medication is the patient's choice. Be healthy!
Very often, prescribed drugs from well-promoted imported pharmaceutical companies are expensive, so patients, in search of a more economical option, look for analogues of the drugs prescribed to them, quite often these are medicines for colds and flu, probiotics or vitamins and microelements. They also often look for analogues of medications widely advertised on TV, antihistamines, nootropics and what advertising calls “cure for VSD.”
In this case, it is better to select complete analogues or generics, that is, drugs that also contain the same amount of the active substance. For example, we are looking for analogues and find a product such as Aspartame, the price of which is an order of magnitude lower than Panangin. If such a remedy cannot be found, with the consent of the attending physician, you can pay attention to substances that are similar in their effect, but contain a different active substance.
Since they are usually looking for not just drug analogues - cheap analogues of expensive drugs, it is unlikely that it would be beneficial for pharmacy workers to recommend such a replacement. Therefore, those who need such a replacement should refer to our article, and also expand their knowledge by reading Medical reference medicines and their analogues. We will not be able to talk about all medications and their analogues within the framework of this article - full list this is a multi-volume work. Therefore, we will focus on those that today often appear in commercials and those that patients are most interested in.
Scene in a pharmacy (cheap analogues of expensive drugs)
Examples of analogues of drugs from different groups
Most often, when we receive a doctor’s prescription, we buy not the cheapest drug at the pharmacy. It is not the topic of the article to analyze the reasons for this situation; let’s just say that analogues of Russian medicines cost two times, and sometimes an order of magnitude less, than imported analogues. Most often, the effect is satisfactory, and the cost savings are obvious.
However, buying cheap analogue, it is not always possible to achieve the desired effect. That is, by buying a more expensive product, we get the result promised by the instructions. And when purchasing a cheap option, the effect is much weaker, although the active substance and its concentration are identical to the expensive product. At least this follows from patient reviews.
The reason for this phenomenon can only be explained by conducting appropriate research. Perhaps in some cases the situation can be explained psychological factor(trust in foreign pharmacological companies is higher), in others the drug is counterfeit. Perhaps there are other reasons.
Probiotics
Considering the frequency of use of antibiotics to treat certain bacterial infections in humans, animals, and their treatment of plants, it can be argued that the intestinal microflora is exposed to substances that are harmful to it quite intensively. It’s not surprising that you have to take probiotics Linex, Symbiolact or eubiotics Enterol and Bioflor.
These are high-quality probiotics that contain not only bifidobacteria and lactobacilli, but also enterococci (Symbiolact). Eubiotics may contain either Saccharomycetes (Enterol), coli(Bioflor) and other preparations that contain certain microorganisms needed by the intestines.
Accordingly, the price of these drugs is not the lowest. Linex costs from 250 rubles. It is not surprising that patients are looking for analogues for the drug Linex with a more reasonable price. Unfortunately, there are no cheap complete analogues for this product. The most acceptable analogues of tablets are:
- Lactobacterin - from 113 rubles;
- Gastrofarm from 75 rubles.
Other drugs are comparable in price to Linex or more expensive.
Antihistamines
They are usually called allergy medications. Today, there are first generation antihistamines (Diazodin, Diphenhydramine) and second and third generation (Claridon, Rupafin, Trexil, Telfast).
First generation antihistamines sins are serious side effects, the main one of which is increased drowsiness. This significantly reduces the performance of an allergic person; it is especially difficult to take them for those whose work is associated with risk (drivers, construction equipment operators and others), and Diphenhydramine is also addictive.
Representatives of the next two generations are deprived of this disadvantage. But the cost leaves much to be desired. It is difficult to find complete analogues of cheap drugs for this group of drugs - analogues of expensive drugs, as a rule, are not complete and belong to the first generation drugs.
For those who are looking for cheap analogues of medicine, we can recommend looking at the price table for analogues of expensive medicines:
You can also find analogues at a cheaper price. For example, Chloropyramine tablets cost about 64 rubles. Second- and third-generation drugs cost from 200 rubles, for example Claritin costs about 204 rubles.
